Going off to school soon....
It's confirmed that Renault has pretty much admitted their
guilt.... they won't contest the allegations made against
them....
I'm not even interested in F1, and even I can tell how serious
this is.... I'm thinking permanent excommunication for Renault, and
criminal charges against all those who were in on the
conspiracy.
After all, the only mitigating factor for Renault is their
admission of guilt..... otherwise, telling a fella to risk his life
(and the lives of others) by crashing into the wall is just plain
criminal. Maradona's handball, Eduardo's dive and Adebayor's
stomping are all small potatoes compared to this....
The trouble is, two of the three culprits (Piquet the driver and
technical chief Symonds) have been granted immunity for testifying
against the third (the team boss Briatore).
The prosecution is satisfied that no one else in the team knew
about the plan...so that leaves Flavio Briatore alone to face the
firing squad. He never got along well with the governing body, so
perhaps he has been singled out.
